JEWELLERY BY LUCY PERKINS
Displayed in Craft Boxes at Couture

The kiln formed jewellery is made by cutting and firing small pieces of glass that has a metal foil fused to it called dichroic that gives an intense colour and sparkle. The pieces are stacked together to make small glass “sandwiches” and heated to 800 degrees Celsius. The kiln is cooled slowly to prevent cracking and the more complex pieces are ground to reshape and fired again at a lower temperature to re-polish. This type of work is commonly called dichroic glass jewellery. The jewellery is for sale – Perfect gifts or a treat for you!
