Traditionally August us the month of rest for the performing arts, so our auditorium is quiet until September. However our doors will stay open for a fiesta of FREE acitvities...

Many families already know that Cornerstone has a great selection of summer children’s activities going on over the holidays. This year some highlights include – Artplay, Charleston Dancing, play in a Junk Band, Knit a Toy plus a fantastic four day Youth Dance School.

Don’t forget though that there’s a lot for the grown ups too!

Kicking off the summer activities is the Beer Festival on Friday 30 July – Sunday 1 August which is run by Cornerstone’s Couture café bar. Last year, the beer festival was a storming success. With a wide selection of beers from local brewers, tasty tapas and a delicious BBQ - it's right on your doorstep for fun with friends!

There are also some great regular classes and one-off activities for adults, so it’s not just the children who have all the fun! The centrepiece is a brilliant four day Summer Dance School at the beginning of August. But also there's plenty to do on Magical Movement day on Saturday 14 with classes in Musical Theatre and Charleston Dancing for all ages.

The Family Weekend at Couture in the middle of August from Friday 13 - Sunday 15 is the perfect antidote for families where holiday cabin fever is setting in! Come down to Cornerstone and decorate a cupcake, have a read in the book corner or book up for the Sunday Roast and let someone else do  the cooking for a change! 

New for the summer holidays is a series of exciting free Bar Gigs. It will be possible to chill out to some great sounds in the café bar - Bethany Weimers, Moonraker, Boulevard Swing, and Paul Lidell to name but a few. If you’re very brave, try the Open Mic Music Night for new musical talent on the evening of 10 August. Plus if you want to see others strutting their stuff - go for the Ox Factor final on Friday 6 August!
